This program introduces students the basics of Robotics. The course is designed to build and support knowledge of robotics and programming using key concepts of STEM education.

Activities & Benefits
Students start by learning basic robot building instructions, programming and movement then move on to working with sensors and more complex robot behaviors.
The research projects cover key STEM concepts, step-by-step programming instructions, and many challenge questions to reinforce key educational outcomes.
Towards the end of the course we shall introduce a team Challenge. The students will be given a task to design and build their own robot that fulfills the parameters of the challenge and compete against each other.
The challenge gives students a chance to take what they learnt and apply it through research, critical thinking, and creativity – and see how fun that can be!
It provides excellent opportunities for students to build key workplace competencies in areas such as planning and teamwork.
The program covers the following overall curriculum skills:
- Learn about specialized sensors like light , touch, sound, ultrasonic, rotation
- Control speed and power using motors
- Work with gear ratios
- Program and control input output device
- Interpreting sensor feedback/calculating threshold values/understanding conditional statements
- Use wireless communication
- Systems and systems analysis
- Brainstorm with team mates to find solutions and generate ideas
- To choose one solution, then build, test, evaluate and revise it
- Learn and apply conversion between decimals, fraction, metric and units
- Use data like distance, time , degrees, rotation, ambient and reflected light
- Applying measurement and geometry to calculate robot navigation
- Path planning using both geometry and multiple sensor feedback
